Understanding the Data
Data Axle Platform contains all Business & Consumer Databases on one platform. The data model is redesigned from the ground up to be more accurate and easily consumed.
Data Axle removes legacy shortcomings across hundreds of fields. Some examples:
Feature | Data Axle | Legacy |
Field Lengths | King County Lawn Mowing Services | KING COUNTY LAWN MWNG SVC |
Capitalization | McDonald's | MCDONALDS |
Modern Schema | cuisine: sushi | ISCOD1: v |

Mapping the Data
Data Axle Platform contains all core data available in other Data Axle products. Data Axle Platform also includes data not available in any other Data Axle products.
Not all product fields are mapped one-to-one. For example, Data Axle splits legacy Franchise Codes into unique fields such as brand_ids
and chain_id
.

Retrieving Data
Each person in a customer organization is given their own Data Axle login. Logins are never shared. There are a number of ways to access data:
- Download files through the Data Axle web UI.
- Automate file retrieval with the File Delivery API or SFTP.
- Read more Delivery Options.
Data Axle does not post files to FTP mailboxes that require shared passwords and manual updates.
