Business Attributes

The Financial Database includes 18 Business Attributes, available only on records matched to the Places database. These attributes provide essential details about a company’s identity, location, status, and classification.

Identifier & Classifiers

Identifiers and classifiers uniquely define each place. Infogroup ID is present on records that match to the Places database. Use these attributes to track records over time and select specific types of places:

• infogroup_id - The 9-digit unique identifier for a Place.
  
• place_type - The type of place based on its role in the organization.
  

Status & Recency

Status and recency attributes describe if a place is in business and when it was last verified.

• in_business - The operational status of the business.
  
• verified_on - The date the business was most recently verified.
  
• created_at - The date and time when the place record was created.
  

Names, Address, & Phone

Names represent the real-world identifiers of a place, while location details capture its physical address. Phone and website details are included where available.

• name - The place's common, recognized name, or "doing business as" name.
  
• street - The location address of the place.
  
• city - The city name for the Place.
  
• state - The state or province of the place.
  
• postal_code - The postal code for the location address.
  
• phone - The telephone number for the place.
  
• website - The primary homepage URL of the business.
  

Categories

Places are categorized using a proprietary extension of Standard Industry Classification (SIC) and North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). Use categories to determine a place's lines of business.

• primary_sic_code_id - The primary line of business represented by a Standard Industrial Classification code.
  
• primary_naics_code_id - The primary line of business represented by a North American Industry Classification System code.
  

Business Size

Attributes that describe the scale of a company’s workforce and its estimated economic activity at a specific location.

• estimated_location_sales_volume - An estimation of the place's sales revenue.
  
• estimated_location_employee_count - Estimates the number of employees who work at this location.
  
• location_employee_count - The number of employees who work at this place.
  
• contacts_count - The number of contacts on the business record.
